That's it!!!! After the unbearable heat of yesterday and the huge swarms of fles that decended upon us at my usual time to ride, I'm heading out this morning at dawn and should be hacking out for 7.00am!!

Who's else out there is melting?

I have been riding at 530 every morning before work as it is the best time to ride. No flies, cool and no traffic!

Me too. I have just been out with the dogs, and I'm off riding soon. We are lucky, my field backs on to a big woods so its always cooler in there, which is great in this weather.

I have been out too this morn. I wasn't feeling too good this morning so got up at 4.30, went and got horse in and had a lovely 1 1/2 hour hack. Saw a couple of people walking dogs, 2 cars, lots of rabbits and birds and no flies!!

I was up at 4.15, but to my shame I haven't ridden :o I'm not looking forward to this weekend though, it's supposed to get really hot :(

I certainly would be riding if I could unfortunatly can't horse is lame.
What ever the weather in this country we seem to moan.

A summer at last be grateful!

Ditto this :p

And unless everywhere else has been melting apart from here, its only been 25/27 degrees, hardly unbearable!

I've just been on the phone to my husband who works in Iraq. I was moaning about the fact I am having to ride before walking the dogs as its 25 degrees & too hot to ride any later than about 8 o clock.

He replied that it's 53 degrees out there & he is wearing full body armour for 18 hours a day.

Oops - sort of puts it in perspective for me :p

Oh yes, that does make me feel guilty for moaning; we're never happy are we?!

Yes..me too, up at 5.00am, out on neds by 5.30, got back just gone 7.
Beautiful...birds singing, sun shining and no flies. Didn't meet a soul, just me and the horses (riding and leading).
Mucked out, and showered all by 8.00am....rest of the day my own. Perfect!!

i was up at 6 this morning, taked up and cleaned up by 7 went inside to get my mum to come out to watch me ride as she said i could not ride and she had gone off up to town without telling me, so i still have not ridden

I was up at 7 and riding by half 8 this morning. Went for a plod around the lanes to avoid the woods and the moor. Still plagued by flies, but it's nice to be at home on the sofa now, rather than out in the heat. Although, I might get changed into some light clothes and watch some cricket on school field!

Up at 4.30 this morning so that we could box my daughters cob and her friends pony down to the beach. They've never done a beach ride before and the horses were so brave venturing into the sea for an early morning dip. I think we'll go again and try and get there as the sun rises (we were later today at only 6.30) as it should be beautiful. My daughters cob was in awe of his surroundings and I think they really enjoyed a change of scene.

Wow, you were all up so early! I was congratulating myself for being in the saddle at 8am! Much cooler early though, think I'll do the same tomorrow.
Went to a local show today, felt so sorry for the organisers no one had turned up, only 1-2 in each hunter class. Think everyone had decided that it's just too hot to wear a tweed jacket, shirt and tie and wait around at a show.

I agree that we do never seem to be satisfied, when it's cool and it rains we complain and now it's too dry and too hot! My friend just got back from Cyprus where it was 45C so the current 24C doesn't seem so bad in that knowledge. :) I really struggle in the heat as I'm very fair but I like the warmth for a change, it's about 30C+ when I really start to complain.

I would like some rain though, our fields are dust.
