Right, this seems so ridiculous I can't believe I'm writing it! We have a 6 ponies at home one of which is my daughter's outgrown 13.2hh, she now has a 14.2hh and the plan was to sell said pony.
This 13.2hh is an absolutely fab P.C. pony, jumps up to 1m, bold honest, never stops doesn't pull/hot up/buck/rear, won and placed s.j. x.c. county level whp hunts all day with brains and breaks, virtually anybodys ride, a real confidence giver - ahh you are thinking - a little gem, worth a bomb!! That is what my O.H is also thinking..... BUT he is also the only equine we have that I really enjoy riding, my own mare is now a bit stiff behind, with a slightly arthritic hock and I am not as brave as I once was. I do feel a bit daft on a 13.2 but I am small enough and light enough to get away with it.
To be perfectly honest if I thought I could find a 16hh version of him I would sell him tomorrow but I know from experience horses of this type are hard to find.
So what would you do - sell the superstar boy and look for a nice sensible horse for myself or keep him - my reservations are he would be wasted with me - he does love to compete and would give another child an awful lot of pleasure and my youngest would take an awful long time to grow into him (she's 10 months) - I keep almost advertising him then thinking I'll just leave it a bit longer....opinions please?
