I have the oppertunity to move my two ponies to a new yard, which will be rented by my friend, who is currently at the same yard as I am. I've had over a week to think about it, but only saw the yard today.. and I'm having real trouble deciding on what will be best for both the beasties and me. I want to start competing this year, nothing big, only local sj, and the new yard has a small outdoor school, which is where the temptation really lies for me. It is also about 3 miles closer. However the livery will be slightly more expensive, and Im also concerned about where we will stand if my friend runs out of money.. the monthly rent is quite pricey, and as a student her income is limited.. and I really dont know how she is going to afford it, but she is sure that she can
My ponies are REALLY happy where they are, the grazing is superb and abundant, they live in mixed herds with natural shelter from huge hedges, plus we are right next door to the ashdown forest. Our vet hospital is literally a stones throw away, so no callout fees, the livery is cheap as chips.. but we only have a schooling paddock in the summer, with homemade jumps, and in the winter a school down the road that I pay about £2 a time to rent. Argh so difficult.. well done for getting to the end! I having been mulling this over and over, and am still no closer to a decision. Any thoughts at all?
