I am at a yard at the moment where i get on well with all the people. There are quite a few horses in our field (I've got a field pony) and it's not very good grazing. Do I move my pony to a stable with better grazing and less horses (no more then 4 in their field) do field ponies react ok to going into a stable? She is 6.

If she is happy outside and keeping her condition on well I see no reason to make any changes, if there is not enough grass where she is are they given plenty of hay? most ponies will adapt to being stabled part time but if there is no need why not leave her where she is settled.

Mine is out 24 / 7 most of the time but i bring her in if weather bad and generally in every night from feb. Its takes about a couple of days to get into stable routine. initially circles box alot , but if she is hungry she is very happy to come into big haynets. Just need to get up there early to turn back out.

I don't know about moving if the grazing's adequate, but it's good practice to get any equine used to a stable, you never know when they'll need to be in for medical purposes...
