To people with more than 1 horse, how do you manage??

I currently have 2 (will be 3 in the autumn when the next one is weaned!) in leased fields. I couldn't possibly afford livery for them and as they are all youngsters that would be a waste of money anyway. I don't have any help and am solely responsible for them. I work full-time and "do" them twice a day. The morning is just a quick visit to make sure they are OK. Evenings they are fed and groomed and I poo-pick/check fences/fill up water etc. Never get home much before 8pm and it's usually later . . . . oh, and I am very much the wrong side of 50 (just the right side of 60!)

seriously, in winter he helps out with the chores, be it turning out, mucking out, sorting feeds, considering he was clueless and scared of horses when met he's had a 2 year crash course and adores them now!

We keep them on his parents farm for free, we have less grazing than would like but as both are fatties it's not really a major issue anyway! LOL and we got given a huge old sheep barn that OH converted into a stable block, well it works out for his folks as well...it's probably added £100k onto their property value as it now has brick built indoor stables on site! LMAO!

We're aware it's not forever (nor would I want it to be contrary to belief, hehe!), but it's been a nice breather and at least know can take time to look for somewhere else if wanted tho they're talking about keeping the fields and buildings anyway so who knows - they like us on site as we delve into the farm work at night and help out so it's tit for tat, I don't mind, have learnt a lot about sheep in the past year! LOL I worry more about the pigs and a home for them if they move than the horses, they'd settle down to livery and know of one that's a matter of a mile from the house that's dirt cheap anyway!

I'd look for a small yard with an arena - that would be the ideal (which the one down the road is...lmao)
