After a long break, my horse (thoroughbred cross) and I are just getting back into competing. We prefer dressage and jumping, but for our first event back we are going to a local showing event. Showing is NOT my thing and i don't expect to win anything but I still want to look decent/like we belong there.

Problem is, my boy has rubbed the bottom half of his mane off, and the wispy bits left over are too short to plait into fake hair; i've tried that! Ive also tried attaching some fake plaits but i can't get them to stay in and they look awful - very obviously fake!! The event is tomorrow so I need another solution.

My question is, do I plait the remaining top of his mane (from mid neck to ears)? I can get about three plaits in. Or do I just pull he remaining hair short and leave it?

Plait as best you can, you will not be the only one with rubbed bits but you don't want to be the only one to not even try and turn out correctly, make the ones you can do nice and small so they are really neat and it will be appreciated by the judge.
