I've got a riding lesson this afternoon booked for 4:30pm. I'm currently off work and uni with post viral fatigue syndrome, and havn't ridden for 4 weeks.

I really really want to go today, but feeling very tired... half of me wants to go as I havn't ridden in so long and I don't want to let my instructor down again, but half of me just wants to sit at home and do nothing...

What would you do? It's £28 for the lesson + petrol to get over there..... I don't know what to do

If you go, you'll have to be prepared to look after yourself afterwards & sit out the backlash... Lots of fruit & water & sitting around...

Reluctant to say one way or the other cos I've had post viral fatigue myself & know how it works. You will be able to summon the strength for your lesson, but you'll have to pay it back...

Sorry, no help at all, apart from sympathy...

Ride - If your anything like me as soon as your at the yard illness and injurys are quickly forgotten and magicly disapear (Until home) I bet as soon as you mount you'll feel loads better. I've riden when I've been very ill and barely been able to walk and hold a headcollar - but the horses needs exercising!

I cancelled it

Having a bad day and not even got the energy or motivation to drive over there. Instructor was very understanding, I've booked in for a half hour lesson next Monday and see how I'm feeling then...

I am just contemplating the same thing! I have a lesson booked for 5pm but it's the weather that is putting me off. I have about a 25min hack to get to my instructor's then I have a lesson in an outdoor menage. The wind is really strong and it is forecast rain too so will I get as much as I want out of the lesson if we are battling against the elements the whole time?
I am tempted to ring her to cancel but this will be the second time I have cancelled as last week I had to go the dentist!

Having said all that - I have voted that you should ride if you can!

Ooops - crossed posts! I don't blame you for cancelling. You'll get more out of your lesson next week when you are feeling better!

I felt really guilty, I've cancelled about 4 or 5 lessons in a row now... gave it 2 weeks and booked a lesson for today and still no better (I've been ill for going on a month now, it's not something that goes away quickly). Have good days and bad days, and unfortunatly today is a bad day

Hopefully will be better next week

Deffinately ride but tell your instructor to take it steady, you will feel metally 'lifted' if its an enjoyable lesson so go for it! you can always stay mainly in walk working on a bit of baby lateral work and your seat aids!!
