To rug or not?

My horse is not clipped yet but i have started bringing her in of a night - last week she wore a fleece and sweated up . This week i havent rugged her at all but tonight it seems really cold sooo, should i put her fleece back on?:)
 
Rhino, i cant believe the sudden change in temp today but then we cant complain it is still lovely for November! I might just leave her naked as she has a full coat and is stabled oh, decisions,decisions!!:rolleyes:
 
My TB (and my cob) is still unrugged and out 24/7. They are still toasty warm and believe me, I am the world's biggest wimp when it comes to rugging :D
What breed is your horse and does she have a thick coat? Feel the base of her ears and her armpits. If she feels nice and warm she'll probably be ok, although they do get colder inside as they can't move around much to keep warm.

*whispers very quietly so the Weather Gods don't hear*

This time last year we were under about 2 foot of snow, so the wind/rain I can cope with! :D

My boy is unclipped but is an elderly wb if that helps :)
 
if mine were in they would be naked, but then the stables warm up nicely with three in. ;)

all of mine are out in the lightest of their heavyweights now- one is clipped, one is a fossil, and the other a yearling who has outgrown everything else... :rolleyes:

but the weather is foul, (huge storm last night...) and snow expected tonight. and we are on the north west coast of scotland... so not for the feint hearted! :p

If they're not clipped and healthy we don't rug. It all depends on the horse but we have some here that will develop an inch of snow as an over-rug they are that well insulated! Horses generally cope with the cold much better than the heat.
