This is what I’m concerned about, unfortunately one of her quirks is that she needs individual turnout or she gets kicked as didn’t have socialisation as a foal. We’ve tried her with ponies are she doesn’t think of them as company.
I would hope that it isnt too late for her to learn social skills in a herd. I have 3 mares and a gelding, 2 of which are ex racers with very little turnout experience. The gelding had no turnout full stop previous.
they all learn fairly quick who is boss. I’ve had a couple of ripped rugs within the first few days but no kicks thankfully.
Over the years i have had many come and go, the mares have been no bother. they learn to respect boss mare within hours. It is if i have 2 geldings there can be trouble as they can fight over the mares.
i am very much a let them learn person though. With all animals. ( and kids)!I want them to learn survival skills.
