After a long hard think, I've looked at my horses and decided that need to swap my rising 3 filly for a working pony.
My filly is around 14.2hh, stocky, and what I'd describe as a "dirty" palomino (she has grey running through her flaxen mane and tail but it's still flaxen enough to look palomino). She is a Heinz 57 and built like a lightweight cob. In the winter she is more chesnut than palomino but in summer she is a lovely soft golden colour.
She's a lovely little horse. Very sweet and eager to please. But I'm still after something my daughter can go to Pony Club on. I still have the section A who won't take a bit (compulsory for most PC competitions) and my eldest daughter is rapidly outgrowing him. I guess I have the option of her using him for another year or so until we get the filly backed.
So I have 3 options:
a) Try to swap my filly for a suitable pony that all the kids can use
b) Sell my filly and try to buy a suitable pony
c) Keep my filly and use the grumpy sec A until my filly is old enough to be broken and used for Pony Club
What would other people do?
In an ideal world I'd be able to keep her and buy a new pony because I love her so much. But time, money and grazing is sadly limited.
