Thank God! I was just coming to the end of this thread & wondering if there were ANY sane posters left on HHO. Can't believe how many people have jumped on the OP for this. OP - well done for posting, and well done for trying to slow the driver down. Sadly, common sense just ain't that common.
It's very very easy to trace keepers details from a number plates my OH does it every time he buys a used car you do it online or on your phone and they charge your credit card .
It was one of the reasons I stopped being a welfare officer as I used my own vehicle the thought that I could be traced to my home from my reg number was just too scary.
I have also heard of it being used in tack room break ins the thieves go a local show trace your reg go to your home and break in there was a spate of that near here.
Or simply follow you home after the show. After all, they already know what tack etc you have on site because they will have seen it on the horse while it was tied up in or beside the lorry or trailer. I am also sure they use Googlemaps to spot properties with horses in the fields. This would explain why people get broken into despite living half a mile up a rough track, miles from anywhere.
