To the eventers out there?

Out of interest, I am ill in bed so pondering lots of things!!

How do you qualify for a 1*,2* event.
And can you go straight from pre novice to novice, or do you have to of jumped a number of double clears to do so?

Not that i am contemplating this in the near future, but its always nice to daydream

Seniors can go from PN to Nov but juniors have to do double clears.

For a CIC* you need 2 clear Nov XC and less than 16 in SJ.
For a CCI* you need four XC Nov Clear and SJ less than 16

you can go straight in at novice as a senior.
tbh those qualifications should be minimum requirements imho.
novice is not a big deal if you had a bold horse and are confident, tbh.

Don't think i'll be moving out of PN for a long time yet, although if she stays as bold as she was this week then hopefully we could aim for a novice next year. I think its more her confidence than mine!!

Im contemplating doing a CCI* if all goes well this year (at Aldon); does a CIC* count as a qualification?

Kentisheventer, yes, i'm sure it does. check BE Rulebook though obv, they seem to change the qualifications every year!
