TO THE SAD **** WHO REPORTED ME TO ADMIN

I've also received one today asking me to shrink mine, even though I've had it for months. So I've just removed it, I couldn't care less, lol!
As for reading the T&C's when you signed up, who ACTUALLY does that and notes down the size they are allowed for a signature? LOL. People need to get out more.

TBH I don't think anyone reads the T&Cs :p but I don't see the point in moaning about it. There is obviously reasons behind the size restrictions and moaning isn't going to help.

By the time it took the OP to make this thread an write her rant she could have resized her sig.

But why should people have to turn off all signatures [some of which can be very nice] simply because others cannot keep within the rules?

Because its easier than reporting every Tom, Dick and Harry, only to discover that you missed Larry and he's just ruined it all for you? :p

Firstly, rules are rules.

Secondly, the rules about signatures are set as such as they can play hell with some peoples computers, especially those who get online on notebooks, ipods, ipads....etc etc etc....

Having to wait ages simply because your tiny ipod is loading the pictures can be bloody annoying.

Frankly, I don't care, but find something decent to moan about....good grief....

Honestly I don't see what the big deal is. So you've been asked to shrink your sig. You do it, life goes on. Not a massive disruption. I've had a slap on the wrist for having a lot of ****s in the title of my post instead of a swearword ;)
FTR huge sigs make it a massive pain in the bottom to read some threads because you have to scroll across to read the posts then scroll back like a typewriter. Hadn't noticed this with your sig, but hey ho *shrugs*

Rules are rules. They are there for a reason. That reason being that large signatures distort people's screens and make it hard to read.

Instead of taking it personally why don't you ask for someone's help to resize the signature?

Because I actually felt like moaning, not something I do very often. Very liberating. Sig all sorted now, thanks for the fantastic advice.

Sorted, thankies, you are absolutely right, life did go on, I am still here this morning and feeling marvellous!

No point in moaning about it at all. Except, I wanted to. Thank goodness for sensible people like you that do not waste their time and effort 'ranting'.

Apparently my sig is too big. OMG, can you believe it. I have had that sig since I first started on H&H. I don't come on very often now and did so this morning to ask advice on my sick horse. I saw I had a pm and thought perhaps someone had sent me some advice and was shocked to see I have an 'infringement' against me. I mean, how sad are some people, I don't even know how to edit the size of my sig so if the busy body who reported me would like to volunteer please do so and you can have the pleasure.

Some people are so sad and need to get a life, why would it even bother someone?????

TBH I can see this from both sides! It is annoying when a signature is too big but would it be too much trouble to pm the guilty party rather than just report them immediately, would save so much ill feeling! I have also seen in previous threads where someone just replies saying your sig is too big, even this is preferable to pushing the button.

It does come across that there is someone out there who seems to focus on reporting sigs that are too big although I am sure it must be more than one person and is probably someone who has just sat there for ages waiting for a page to open because of the sig size. OP, don't take it personally, it happens all the time, as do threads being moved because someone has taken offence at them being in the wrong forum, being reported because they have too many photos. Unfortunately you just have to accept there are some out there that like their relationship with the button and feel the need to press it constantly!

In the end, yes it's breaking the rules, so pm the person and ask them to change it, yes it's annoying on a netbook, but then, hey, you can elect to remove sigs and that would probably be sensible if you're using a 10" screen and your main priority is to read the content, why waste any space on repeatedly looking at someone's horse, dog, cat, ferret and boyfriend? (usually, on here, in that order, LOL)
Life really is too short.
