Where do you get your hay from? I'm stuck and need either big or small bales of hay and need straw too. Need it to be delivered to Hucking nr Maidstone. Thankies :D

i dont know of any , but i have 4ft round bales 4 sale @ £35 a reel but pick up only from siitnbgourne area really nice hay this years

Okay, I might be able to get one picked up but not too sure yet. Would I be able to let you know if I want one?? Would have to ask YO if he's prepared to go and pick one up for me.

Can't help specifically as our YO supplies ours. During the snow we picked up our own small bales from Lillico's on the Aylesford Industrial Estate - they were quite nice although a bit pricey, I think they were £4.40 back then.

I hear Lillico are charging rather more than that now, but check, maybe they aren't!
Does anyone know where I can get those wrapped bales of hay or hayledge from? The ones that are about the same size as a small bale of hay? Preferably direct from the farm, rather than paying more from the feed barns.

Binkybex - Yes they are Johns gallops :) how do you know of there??

HollyB and Tinypony - we've asked Lillicos and they are charging £5.30 a bale and its limited to 4 bales per customer, which isn't going to be very helpful :/

Speedgate is £5.50 per bale, I think Glovers may be £5.25, but they did have some stolen from the field, so it may have had to go up. Pretty dire isn't it? I wish I had transport for a couple of those round bales in Sittingbourne!

Owch! Speedgate was my next port of call  Have to try hunts again ..

Monty, I think you may have to just bite the bullet and pay these prices. This is what the hay is costing now, and it will probably be more after Xmas when they have to start shipping it in from outside. People have been stock-piling, but most places are now limiting how much they will sell. I know Speedgate are, but I don't know how much. I got some hay straight off the field, and even that was £4 per bale. It's a bit dire.
