Why do the rspca have to get involved. The police can clearly see what happend and should take action as necessary. Again more waste of charity money to get publicity for them.

Hear, hear .... what a sensible young lady.

I take it she won't be selling her "story" to one of the red tops then :D

Hold on the rspca would have been contacted by the police (animal welfare issue), the publicity was raised by the owner of the cat.... How on earth can you accuse the rspca of publicity chasing!!!!!

Because they are moaning constantly about having no funds and having to cut down on everything, surely to heavens the police know the law and can take the appropraite action.

Sensible response from the owner, and actually quite clever to come up with posting this on facebook. I can understand emotions running high (and I would feel equally unhappy if it was my animal) but there is a danger that public opinion could go too far overboard. GMTV actually named the woman today which actually I think was irresponsible. It was an unpleasant and uncessary act but there are people who have done a lot worse and will get away with it - I know of a little bitch rescued from people feeding her hash cakes and it took the dog a long tine to "come down" as well as being absolutely terrified too.. they will get off scot free.

I still have a feeling there's more to this story than meets the eye, call me cynical but why did they have so many cameras at that very ordinary house? (And did they have the appropriate signage up advising the public they were being filmed as they walked down the street?) I gather some sort of past history with damaged cars, but is there a connection? Is it a long term feud and they really knew who did it? Or was it posted on fb to attract attention for some other means? Who knows?!

I agree it is a sensible response, but as it was caught on camera the media have made a massive thing about it as they can "show" the video, so it makes good tele. Although who gave them the film in the first place?

Hmm, yes but is that how she really feels!? Probably not. If it were my animal I would be wishing the worst kind of karma on the horrible old hag and I'm sure Stephanie Mann feels the same behind closed doors.

The owner sounds very sensible, hopefully people will respect her view on it.

Can't believe the woman got death threats, their just as bad as the woman who did it if they they think like that.

strange people:confused:

Exactly this, the woman was stupid and cruel but she could have been far crueler if she wanted to be. Its only because this has been brought to the publics attention by the means of the video that it has caused such a frenzy. Yes she was wrong but this could ruin her life, something which I dont personally think she deserves.

If it ruins her life then I'mn afraid there is only one person to blame and that is herself!

Yes, people are overreacting and baying for blood makes them as bad as her, but it is only right that there is some come back from her appalling actions, and by the sound of it the only regret she has is that she got caught. She has apparently said that it was 'only a cat' (yes, a cat that could have faced a torturous/horrendous death or suffering because of her actions) and she did it as a joke (again, I'm sure the cat thought it was very funny.)

Personally I'm glad she got caught out and shown just what a nasty piece of work she is, and while I wouldn't wish any harm to come to her, I do think that it will make people see her in a different light and be able to protect their animals from her.

She did something wrong and now she has to face the consequences, that is life.
