Hiya, locally it was £2.50 off the field but not sure that it will have gone up that much as there appears to be a fair amount about.
I am near canterbury and some friends have some if you want their numbers pm me.
£3.50 this year per bale, from same supplier as last year when they were £4.50. (Better quality this year to ) Found hay prices going down again after the initial panic of the rain in June/July. Appears most farmers got a good amount of hay from their second cut later in the year.
I get mine included in the livery price but they sell the surplus made and currently doing small bales I think at £4.50 and large at £35, surrey / berkshire border.
Wow, i thought i was getting a good deal, not so sure now! Paying £5 a bale and have to collect myself, know the guy as i used to be stabled there so thought i'd keep using his hay. He makes it himself and cut a lot this year as he took on some more fields.
If i was to buy it off my current yard i think its £7.50 a bale!
Im in Surrey, not far from Epsom, that sort of area.
Just bought some in at £4.00 per bale -delivered but we had to stack it ourselves. Normal supplier it is £5.00 per bale and is delivered and stacked in the hayloft and they will change it if you have a very fussy horse and it won't eat it for whatever reason. After lugging the other stuff up into the loft have decided it isn't worth the saving! We are in Essex.
I will be buying from between £2 -£3 a bale this year as the yield has been fab and our lovely farmer is aware he has a surplus and needs to keep his prices at a reasonable level. This is in Kent.
So cheap here w kent , t wells area as we got so much late hay, so sold some for around 2to 2.50 a bale as we have loads! But wouldn't deliver because we can't !
