B has stayed in today, although the weather looks lovely and bright our field is poached to all hell and needs a few days off. If I did turn her out she'd just stand by the gate waiting to come back in so

Will go for a long ride later to make up for it.

Mine is in - with 30MPH winds and torrential rain this morning it was the best plan!! My lad has no shelter in his field though - if he did he would be out! My main concern was the wind rather than the rain.

Mine are in which makes a change - they are usually the only ones out!! Their field is right at the top of a huge hill and there isnt that much shelter (some trees but no shelter from the wind) plus I cant get them in until after work which is usally about 7pm. In an ideal world they wuold go out until 4pm in weather like this!

mine always goes out in the day - come hurricane or shine or blizzard, she's a horse!! if there was more grass & if allowed, then i would be happy with her out 24/7.

That's me usually. But not when they are knee deep in mud and standing around not eating anything.

I turned mine out but in the time it took me to do my chores he was drenched and wanting me out of his field stable so he could munch hay! So I shut him in for a few hours and nipped home in my lunch to turn him out (only have to open the door as his stable is in his field!). It is dry now so pleased he is out until this evening.

Mine is in, the wind is really strong and it has been decking it down. I went to take her for a little stroll this morning but then thought the better of it, and think she was quite relieved too lol! If it is nice ever, I turn her out for short periods.

Our yard have started doing alternate days turnout, mares one day geldings the next etc.
My gelding stayed in yesterday so today is his turn to be turned out, I put him out at 10am and got him in at 12.30.
Mainly so I don't have to go and get him in later in the dark when it's like this!

Mine goes out whatever the weather! She's in a waterproof rug, is out from about 9am and will come in about 5pm unless her field mate's owner gets there earlier and gets them in. She would be quite happy staying in 24/7 but I think she should be out as much as possible.

She'll prob be v p****d off but she won't melt from being out in the wind and rain!

Keeping to their usual routing - they go sploshing out at dawn and splosh in again at 6.00. They have been standing out in all weathers munching their hay and with their rugs on don't seem to mind. I been putting them in the orchard for two hours every afternoon where it got overgrown last year and there's long coarse grass so they are gardening for me. Anything to get them out of the mud.

I would love to put mine out all day but she has mud fever and anyhow just stands by the gate looking miserable even if there is hay in the field so in she stays munching hay.
