To turn out or not to turn out....

That big question at this time of year! Well I was going to keep my boy in at night times until I had used up some more of last years hay as I hate it lying around for next winter. I have about 25 bales left and he just is not eating much atm so not getting through it.
I had decided to let him out 24/7 at the end of April in order to use up more hay but my OH is now saying to not worry and let him be out now if he wants...the hay will get used next winter.
So shall I just turf him out? He would be happy out, I know that and have appropriate rugs and access to his field stable.
Any thoughts???

Turn out

Ours went out for first time last night and are quite happy. You can always give him some hay in the field to use it up a bit

mine went out friday night as jay was trashing his stable & hates being in,if the weather changes they will come back in for a bit

i keep some hay in the summer for emergencies
