Thanks entirely to joeanne, I have finally managed to make a Facebook page for my boy!

Everyone kept telling me that Tobago should be on FB (even though I don't want to join myself) but I was making a complete horlicks of attempting to do this. joeanne rescued me and sorted out all my stupid muddles, bless her.

But I'm still a total FB-virgin and have no idea how it all works, so any advice from others with horses on there would be welcome.

For example, are there FB horsey groups that I (or rather, Tobago) should join?

And could anyone who has a horse with their own FB page please post a link for me, so I can have a look and get an idea of how these things should look?
 
do you know if its a fan page? or a profile page that you have to add as a friend to view? if that makes sense. i can't find him, do you have a link?

ETA I've heard a lot of good things about your stallion. He's gorgeous!

I follow a few american breeders and stallions on facebook.
Stallion wise, updates on what they are doing show wise & training wise, photo updates, how to get semen, how to get ahold of you/stud.
Foal wise, photo albums of each foal crop and then individual albums for foals that are 'known', updated statuses on what the offspring are achieving in the ring/at home.

I see Tobago's page is set to 'friends only'. I would be inclined to make the profile public as not all interested breeders would necessarily want (or have the ability to) add him as a friend.
 
Search Htobago arab stallion.....will pop up with a nice photo of him!:)

Stig has his own page....if you click the link below you will get him....although he has sent a friend request!
 
OK - have changed the settings and I think profile is now public, but I could be wrong...

Another numpty question - is there a way of uploading photos directly from my photobucket to my FB photo album? I can post them on my Wall, but am having to faff about with saving them back to my computer in order to get them onto the FB album...

Am I making any sense at all? Sorry to be such an ignorant muppet!
 
I dont think you can with PB.. boring old task of saving then uploading BUT there is a bulk uploader on FB that allows you to upload more than one at a time.

He he - I really should let Tobago do this himself! He's the biggest noisy attention-seeker on the planet, and I've always said that if he were human, he'd be the sort of person who updates their FB page with their every fleeting thought or feeling every 5 minutes...

Oh, also - is there a way of editing his name so it says H Tobago rather than Htobago?
 
If you click on 'profile' on the top right hand side of the page it will then come up with 'Edit Profile' so you should be able to adjust the name from that :)

Have accepted friend request!

Tried to edit name using 'edit profile' - it wouldn't let me. Went to 'help' to find out why and got this:

"I accidentally selected a wrong/misspelled username for my Facebook Page. Can I revise it?
No. Once you have claimed a username by clicking the "Confirm" button, it is not possible to edit it, or to transfer your username to a different account on Facebook. Additionally, when an account is removed from the site, its username will not be made available to other users for security reasons."

Seems crazy that one can't correct a mistake and is stuck with it forever! Grrrr!

I've tried to do this, but not sure I've done it right - could you check and see if it is now 'public'? I can't seem to tell. Sorry to be such a nuisance!
