Today we trotted all the way around the arena (its a 60 x20 with no fences) changed the rein and then did it again on the other rein… *mostly*looking where he was going… not one canter stride in sight!!!!

Might not sound like much but it’s a massive achievement I can assure you and it has never happened before

If anyone else has any acheivements half as impressive as this please feel free to add them to the thread😂

Today I rode for the first time in a month because I've been ill. The arena was like a bog after torrential rain this morning, so we only walked and had to navigate to the dry bits, but we did some poles, figure 8s and squares with a turn on the haunches at each corner. She started off not wanting to go forward, but ended up almost feeling like she wanted to trot.

I have been letting my beginner boyfriend ride my horse. I have done this willingly. I never usually allow anyone else to ride my own horse. He has been learning his up downs, had his first sitting trot and been trying to canter without bouncing. H has been a little confused but totally on side.

Must be love.

This past week we have managed to walk home at less than light speed and wait politely when asked all on a loose rein 😅 three times! #whohasabductedmypocketrocket
I’m going the other way, T has come out of summer manjana mode and has some purpose in his step. I like this phase.
In a month or twos time he will be in his spooky winter mode.

That's fab BitzNBobs. I love when we're able to do something that is a challenge to that horse.

I did an hour ride and lead today with Tal. 3 miles and Til was incredibly tolerant of him as we were on some narrow paths where he had to tuck in behind and kept trying to bite her. We went up a path I usually go without thinking about it - narrow twisty path, trees very close together and then the path the width of the horse with a drop to the left. Tal didn't blink at it. We passed loads of dogs and had a couple small trots. I haven't done ride and lead in a few months (not sure if I've done it this year). His halter had loosened so dropped Tils reins on her neck, brought him over to me and retied it without either moving.
