Please allow me a moan.

I'm sitting on my sofa, watching Superman, eating cookies and crying my eyes out.
This morning was good, my friend and I went to a car boot, and although we didn't sell much it was a giggle. But since I came home it's been nothing but rubbish.

Firstly, I went to see the boys and long-line Cookie. He was terrible! He's been nothing but good so far, so it was a bit of a shock. He kept trying to turn in on me and it was so annoying!! Thankfully we ended on a very good note, so that wasn't too bad after all.
I came home to see my Dad looking rather worried. For those who go into the Clubhouse, you may have seen that my Mum is in hospital due to adhesions. I went to see her yesterday and she was obviously still not well, but she was in a good mood and we had a laugh. Today her gut has pretty much stopped working. She's having to get it pumped every few hours. I'm so worried :( I miss her like crazy!!

Then the icing on the cake was seeing a pigeon get hit by a car.
I was driving around to see Ned and Cookie and top up their water, when I saw an injured pigeon at the side on the road. I stopped at a safe place and got out (with my trusty hi-viz!). There was a car coming towards me, so I waved my hi-viz jacket, but the sped past me...and hit the poor pigeon. It was one of the worst sounds I've ever heard :( the only comfort was that it was instant. It was getting dark and the car didn't have their headlights on and was going far too fast! It was right next to a 30mph sign, but they hadn't slowed at all from the nation speed limit section of the road. Poor thing, R.I.P Pigeon.

Honestly, horses really are the best medicine. Ned stood like a statue and let me cry into his mane, I love that horse.

Oh bless you :(
Good old Ned.

So sorry to hear about your mum - sending her best wishes. Hope you and your dad are looking after yourselves in the meantime xx

As for Cookie, mine can be a pain to longline sometimes when he doesn't fancy it so hopefully it was just a one off rough day. If not, a 20min lesson with a good instructor/even getting them to longline him out makes a big difference to mine. The Sylvia Stanier book is good too - old now but still a few valuable pointers in there, especially when you want to start making it a bit more complicated.

I hope the cookies are doing their job and making you feel a bit happier! Sending you lots of hugs and hope for a better day tomorrow.

Thanks guys, I honestly can't get the image of the feathers exploding from the front of the car and that sound...urg.

I'm really worried for Mum, but she's tough! She beat cancer and she will beat whatever this is!! It's not the same without her, she's ALWAYS here! I miss her coming to see Neddy and Cookie with me :(

Decided Kick-Ass is a better pick-me-up.

Yea, it's odd, me and my Dad actually get along better when Mum is in hospital. Not that I want her to be there of course! I guess we're both upset so it's better to just get along.

I was hoping to try and get YO to come over, while she's home. She used to be a professional scurry driver and trained her ponies herself, so she might be able to help with Cookie, but if not, then I'll look for someone to help. I get paid tomorrow so I should be able to afford one or two lessons :) might take my mind of things too!

Oh yes, the cookies worked a bit! They're all gone now though :(

(((((Hugs))))) Chan. Vibes for your Mum, and sorry about your pigeon trauma - very upsetting. Cuddle something that smells of horse :)

*hugs* Thanks!
You know what, that's a great idea. While it doesn't smell of horses, I'm going to go and get my Ned teddy. It's rough and not very pretty, but it's hand-made by me, it's Ned and it's super cuddly.

Have been checking for updates on your mum and so hope she is back on her feet soon. You and your dad will need to spoil her rotten when she gets home! Horrible about the pigeon - so upsetting, (the same thing happened to me with a rabbit), but there was nothing you could do. Big hugs and give those horses an extra cuddle tomorrow x
