Today, I Cantered Dizzy - Twice - On Purpose

Okay, so not the most exciting of news for most of you, but for me, everything :D :D :D

It was my third time back on board my darling horse and she took me so nice and steady, pulling up as soon as I asked :D :D :D. I only did two short pieces, but for me and for the Dizz, it was enough, for today at least :D

I am very pleased to say that it didn't hurt my back, that my bum stayed in the saddle, and my lower leg did not grip or go waving about :D

I have to thank D1 for working with my horse to get her steady canter, with a reasonable head carriage, and not shooting off like a speeding rocket :D :D. My wee horse is growing up :D

I know I'm being a bit daft, but from hospital bed, to mri, to brace, to all the not so nice bits, to getting on the Dizz, to feeling confident to canter her again, and so soon after getting back on. Can't stop grinning :D

Sorry, the only picture is one of me looking at her like a soppy c*w. No one knew I was going to give it a go, so no cameras to hand :cool::rolleyes:

I thought about it last ride, but wasn't quite ready. Even today I shortened my stirrups one hole - I'd started again with them at the normal length (the one I 'used' to ride at), but thought that for safety's sake, I should err on the side of caution :D

Just told D1, that as a way of saying Thank You, I'll pay her BS membership when she is ready (her and GM) :D
 
Great news, I have read a few posts were you had referred to the fact you were injured & counting the days until you could ride again. It's nice to read such a happy post. Sweet Dizzy dreams tonight. :D

I'm fan dabby!!

Had a moment with Arnie the other day, we were stood cuddling over the stable door for about 20 minutes... I was telling him how much I loved him and so on and so forth. Then I mentioned that we hopefully had another 30 years together, and the sod lifted his head, swiftly turned tail and farted right by my face!!
I do love his sense of humour

So much for you taking it steady eh! Very brave lady :) I'm really annoyed there wasn't a camera to snap it though :( you'll be jumping this time bext week ;)
 
Wow! Saw the pics you posted last week and you both looked so happy. So pleased to hear you are getting on so well. Keep up the good work and enjoy. :):):):)
 
Its lovely to read such a happy post. Well done on your return to normality :D, in as much as you're back doing what you love instead of being a poorly person. Dizzy sounds like a star.
