Yeah, I think I make him look bigger because I'm 5ft and has we're both in proportion in videos and piccies he looks like a 16.2 and I don't look a midget!
He's 12 ages ago he did a lot of dressage, the he started eventing then he started pony racing alongside the eventing. We're trying to get him out of 'racing head' when ever we go somewhere he seems to think he is out racing
You make a cracking pair!
He does with his head what my trainer's horse used to do until she got the confidence in him to relax her hands a bit and let him just bowl on. That will also come with you as you both learn to trust each other.
I really enjoyed watching your vid and am very jealous!
PS - was he trying to have a roll in the water the first time you took him in??
Well done!! You must be feeling really confident after that session!! He certainly looks like he knows his job inside out and back to front!! I think he looks really well too and certainly full of energy!
I think he's lush and you looked like you both had an absolute blast together He reminds me of my 5yo, bold as brass and insanely quick and who thinks ALL open spaces are for galloping in... I think we'll end up flying round when we get to do some XC schooling so will remember the tip for Bach's
WELL DONE YOU! That is great. He does look raring to go doesn;t he. If its a first time out then that would have something to with it. Have you tried trotting at the fences? Some of them i notice he was fine up to them and only put his head up after! Maybe try the trot to ensure a smooth attempt and breaking after.
Nothing critical to say, you stayed on and you looked like you had loads of fun! and THAT is the main thing.
Was he a JA pony in a previous life? haha he reminds me so much of my 14.2 with the bouncing around saying let me at them!! Although I was never brave enough to try XC with her so well done you!!
Wow! he looked well up for it! Its funny coz Spot has been a twit all weekend, very strong and feeling well too!!
You did really well! wouldnt know at all that you were nervous!
I like your instructor shes a good motivator!
He did look like he enjoyed it, and I'd be exactly the same, trying to get him to go into the jumps at your pace!
Well done you!!
