And my god have I hurt myself.
Needed to get coloured one out today-not my best idea in these winds but he is generally safe to hack.
Went onto the trails where it is very sheltered, had already lunged him for 30minutes, so he was really chilled out and relaxed.
Pheasant flew out from under the bank which I hadnt bargained for, he had been really chilled so my reins were not the best, Oshk went up into the air, and as soon as he put down he went back up again, unfortunately he got his rein looped over his ear, left the ground on all fours and went sideways- quickly. Needless to say on this final movement I was ditched out of the side door, and very quickly at that. Landed ar first- followed by the side of my face. Now my elbow is throbbing- but worst bit seems to be that I have dislocated my jaw- or something equally as painful

Poor lad stood and waited for me to get back on- little gem.

hope you feel better soon!!!
(that's why come spring, i find it really hard to let go of the neck strap, whatever i've been riding in the winter, i trust nothing hehe)
 
Ouch! Sounds very painful. Having been another victim of a pheasant-caused accident, you have my full sympathy. Hope you are off to A&E to be checked out.
 
Arr poor Rosiie!! stupid pheasant!! i hate them so much, there are hundreds around us and they wait right until the last minute to fly up!

at least you are ok (ish!).

Oh gosh hadnt even considered A&E- just had some pain killers- thought that might be enough? He was a gem bless him, if it had been any of the others I would have been left for 10!

My dad got owl-ed out hunting a few months back

riding through some woods an owl flew straight at the horse he was riding basically collided with it's head scrabbled over and hit dad in the face. He ended up on the floor and both horse and rider had injuries to their faces.
 
Definitely go down to A&E - firstly to get your jaw checked out and secondly because if your jaw took the brunt of the impact you may have concussion.
 
Ouch, that sounds very painful. I hate pheasants (only good for one thing shooting and eating, lol)....and pigeons they're just as bad, flipping things.

Definitely go down to A&E, better to be safe than sorry.

Whip yourself down to A&E shrpish young lady just to make sure it's nothing serious.
I have to say I fully sympathise with you though, after falling off yesterday (twice within 2 minutes, same place and in the same way and man I hurt today!

Owww! i fell off other day cos of pheasant and no reins, was not happy! I know us horsey lot tend to suffer and get on with it but A & E is probably the best idea then you can get fixed quicker!!!
 
GRRR damn Phesants!! I hate them i have come off too many times because of the silly things! Bless him for standing with you!! I hope your ok get yourself down to A&E and get yourself checked out xxx

I havent let go of my neckstrap for the past week, this bloody weather! lol don't trust my spooky neds one bit...
