Today my horse told me...

Ths may sound abit strange but I was told this by a very old and wise horsey person and it may help...can you lead her to a spot in the field where she likes to poo, mine tend to do it all over but there is one corner that seems more popular! It is meant to trigger wanting to try having a poo, I know it sounds daft but it might be worth a try and the walk out wont hurt.

Everything crossed for you..I know what its like to have a subtle one..so you've done all you can & spotted it as soon as you can..we're all concentrating for you that she has nice nice big steamer xxx

That's a good idea, if only we weren't dealing with the horse with no dignity! She will pee on concrete, in a trailer etc...

Will pop out at half ten and if she has gone down hill again I will go for a walk round the field with her. It's a full moon which is helping. That way, the boys can follow her and it might make her poo.

Thanks for advice.

Sometimes the old ways do work...did it with one of ours and it did help. Mind you we had to look away as he gets embarrased if we watch him gong to the toilet and would be horrified at your mare weeing on concrete

Really hope she gets thro the night without getting any worse, typical for it to be a weekend, night and throughly horrible weather. Fingers crossed for both of you (and your neighbours sound like gems :) )

Poo or no poo, one of the bloody thugs was in with her. Poo there, who's is it!!! His I think.

Went for walk round field in driving snow, boys were very good. One led the zig zag way (he was very imaginative) and one was behind. No poo.

She is still unhappy but no worse so going to leave her be. Boys are all over her, won't leave her alone. Never a good sign in my experience. I will leave them to take care of her.

Never a good thing when a 17.3hh lad wants to get in and hug everyone!!

She is knackered, totally knackered so have turned lights off and will leave it till about 3am.

Will update in the morning.

Well update this morning,

She is standing happily eating haylage. Now as for poo gate, either she got out or the boys let her out so wether any of the poo's outside in the yard belong to her I don't know. Aaagggghhhhh.

Still got amplified belly sounds but I don't think she would be looking as chirpy if she hadn't passed something. If she hasn't, I don't want to be standing nearby when she does!!!

Yay!! Pooooooo! She would be looking far more narky if she hadn't passed something by now. What naughty boys! Prob thought she would feel better playing with them! :-) onwards and upwards Xx

To be honest, I have lost so many over the years to colic that I expected her to be another, obviously my big ID girl is made of tougher stuff!!!

As for the boys, butter wouldn't melt this morning, they are both holding the "it was him" stare....

I hope everything goes well for her:)
I watched one of mine for 3 days once without seeing him poo once! I cowld think of nothing else at the time.

Great news. Love how you knew there was something wrong and about how the boys were behaving too.. Hoping she makes a speedy recovery :)

Theres nothing more pathetic and upsetting than a big ID with colic - have been through it a number of times with my old chap :-(( It is sounding much brighter tho.

I always remember a little baby on TV doc who had a kidney transplant and the tears of pure joy on his parents faces when his new kidney started to work and he urinated for the first time and covered them with a shower of wee - its amazing how joyful you can be to see wee (or poo in your case).

Fingers crossed everything continues to improve...:-)))) keep us updated.

Good to hear that she has improved over night. The boys sound like they are very cheeky at letting her out and looking like it wasn't them.
