Today we saw. . .

Went for a ride round the farm and we saw (in no particular order):

The M40 from a couple of hundred yards,
Sheep,
A pheasant flying up under our feet,
Two killer deer,
The attacking dragonflies of doom,
And a very, very suspicious looking canal boat. . .

It was Full Friesian Alert in overdrive. But she didn't do a lot more than prance and get a bit strong so I'm quite proud of her. She did have a very laid back horse with her which I'm sure helped.

Yes I was wondering if it might turn into a "should've bought a pony" day, but it sounds like I was lucky to avoid the cow parsley. :D

Lol you were lucky to come out of it in one piece!

We saw road works with FLAPPING TAPE. (basically like the completely non scary electric fence she sees every day...)

A killer tractor and trailer with beacons (admittedly it was rather huge and loud).

And saw a car coming flat out round a bend at us, it saw us, skidded to a halt, crawled past us and nearly got back ended by the next moron who did the same again. Won't be going on that road ever again!!
 
Ha! We have this week survived bouncy castles X 2; giant inflatable elephant thingy, enormous see-thru balls with young persons inside rolling about and... the beer tent! beat that! (and all endured without the bat of an eye; best pony!)
 
For us today it was Ninja party balloons!!!!!! followed by a Skip with lights on it!!!!!!!! That was far too random!!!!!

Oh and don't even think about the golfers!!!!!! Highly dangerous!!!

Foxy had to endure, wait for it... wait for it... a PUDDLE last week.
I'm not even kidding you it was a full blown horse-eating puddle and she nearly even went near it, only backed off from 10 metres away.
Bombproof.
 
The other week we went down a busy lane, through a village full of bunting, huge umbrellas outside the pub, grille things on the kerb, buses going through the village, roadworks, speed humps/zebra crossings, under echo-ey bridges under the motorway, dozens of cyclists, a weir, a foot bridge over a stream, pushchairs and many, many more things. My boy was wonderful with it all, but we were with a much older horse who is also very good. oh yes, they've just finished building a manege at our yard, and there have been JCBs and huge lorries full of sand, rocks, rubber etc. Great really, considering this time last year I was leading my boy out in hand on the road as he hadn't even experienced parked cars.
 
I think I may be a little strange, but I realised yesterday that I much prefer the challenges of training my future 'bombproof ladies hack' to the thought of competing. And I am so determined that the yard manager (who is absolutely lovely but just doesn't get why anyone would want a cold blood horse) is one day going to say to be "wow I really see why you saw potential in her". :)
