Todays adventure: SIDE SADDLE!

Well my list of fun things to try with Kasper can now have side saddle ticked off!

Took a trip to a local equestrian centre to participate in their 'have a go side saddle' clinic.

We warmed up astride in a normal saddle then they fitted a side saddle to Kasper and we had a lesson aside.

It is really really weird to start with but you soon get used to it and you actually feel very secure.

Would defo recommend it for anyone who fancies it.

Have to say the hardest part was remembering not to try and rise when coming back to trot from canter, that caught me out a few times

Good for you PMP! What a good boy too.

They do look quite funny when you can actually see where the legs go rather than everything hidden under a skirt though, don't they!

do you mean 'rise'? You do not rise/post in side saddles, it is sitting trot only

It looks like so much fun! and you had a beautiful day too. As Tobiano said the legs do look odd, but very elegant when hidden by the correct habit (sp). I would love to give it a go sometime.

yes eland lodge. I took kasper just thinking we would see how it went and he was very accepting of it all.
