So pleased with my boy today. We got held up by loads of things on the way to dressage - royal navy rescue service helicopter had to land near main road, loads of cyclists, numerous roadworks and a learner driver all gave me a grand total of 5 minutes to tack up before my test! 

Arrived at the venue to find it was heaving with large warmblood types kitted out to the hills with shiny dressage saddles, blingy bridles and riders looking very eligent. All had arrived in either a brand new ifor or equi trek towed by 11 plate disco. Or an equi trek horsebox or the oakley horsebox that OH devicided to park next to!!

Cue, me panicking like hell. Managed to get on in time, boy was a bit 'tense' I think it was a mixture of excitement and general stiffness as not having had much of a warm up. I thought we'd end up last.
Had a little time between the next class which I spent revising the test and having a look at the 'competition!'

I thought the Second test went reasonably well, he broke in canter for a stride but went right back into it.

Did a bit of a double take when I went to get my results, we got 4th in the first class and 2nd in the second class! I'm so pleased with my boy beating all these fancy horses.

We came away with 70% and 64% which I think are of the highest Ive had.

The amount of riders I saw wearing spurs and jagging their horses on without having a contact was unreal aswell. Most of them came with trainers' or grooms.

It just goes to show that you don't have to have the best of equipment and expensive horses to do well( my boy is a welsh x coloured cob).
