well had a bit of a mixed day at poplar park today!

we did the 3ft3 open individual interschool ODE
went as a warm up for my first BE next week.

dressage was fantastic despite incredibly high winds that nearly blew me out of the saddle!! i got 16.4 :O still in shock!!

sj-some may have heard about my sj problems but had a great round..it was a lovely well thought out course and only had 1 down and had lots of control and she ot perfect striding!

xc- very disapointed it was round the PN course, whcih in fact i didnt think was overly big com, pared to others i had seen but halfway round we got eliminted...she has never stopped with me xc, so very disapointed was not a nasty or a big fence, she was purely too tired..it was a very long drawn out day with lots of hangin round to go xc and i think that and the hills and very deep sand that was in the run up and after every fence just sapped her strength! so very dissapointed and shocked as xc is her real strong point...shall put it down to a bad day.....i know her well enough to realise she wouldnt stop if she didnt have good reason as she is such an honest mare...she had just had enough and was in such a sweat!
anyway im oploading some video footage of my dressage armup so shall post ASAP

thankks....as i say never stopped xc flew round a BE novice course 2 weeks ago....shes a very honest xc horse..so she obviously wasnt happy:) she had a couple of nasty jumps near the start where she seemed to struggle in the sand...but i thought to myself..come on shel get goin in a minute!!

Well done, that is a fantastic dressage score and I bet you're pleased about your SJ!

As for the XC, i think you just have to put it down as one of those things and move on. It happens to all (well most) of us and I know how frustrating it can be but you'll be fine next time. This time of year its easy for them to get mentally aswell as physically tired. Onwards and upwards!!!

Last year the open was a good mix of Nov and PN fences and caused alot of problems, I guess they made it a bit easier this time.. Some of the tracks did get a bit deep last weekend but they weren't holding or sticky so should be OK.

Where did you get a problem? Some of the fences theer were not very flowing, lots of twisting back and fore.

Well done for the dressage and SJ though!

thanks flic- i know its unlike her..si il put it down to a blip...to be honest i was completly suprised by it..i mean i have to ride her xc to get my good strides etc etc etc...but shes just not the stoping kind of horse..if i out her in a bit wrong she wil sort herself out!!

anyway....as i said i think she needs to do a bit more fast work...and at least BE is run a bit closer to time so i dont have to normally wait hourse between everyone..its no fun for anyone..espeically in the terrible wind!!
