Todays racing!!

The clash was fantastic, glad it lived up to the hype.

I want to see Tommy's Oscar win at Cheltenham I like his owner and trainer as its nice to see the tiny yards doing well.

I really liked Kevin Brogan's ride on Phoenix Way, and nice to see him not use his whip either

On another note, I see they continue to persist with Tiger Roll, can't stand his owner and trainer, running him into the ground. Please don't run him in the National but I think the owner will want that limelight, it won't matter to him what is in TR best interests, hence keep running him in completely unsuitable races over here to make his petty point to the handicapper.

I initially thought MTT would be OK as it looked a fairly innocuous fall but his leg must have got caught, as soon as he got up unfortunately it was clear he wasn't surviving that. Poor boy he was a lovely looking horse

I thought Battle Over Doyen wasn't going to get up, as it looked like he went to then crumpled, fortunately they showed him being led back.

Something isn't right with Goshen I think he's trying to tell them he doesn't want to do it anymore. However according to the jockey just stick blinkers on him...

Just seen on another forum Warrior's Tale was fatally injured (not an ITV race) poor boy was 13 years old.

He runs and acts like he’s got a physical and mental problem, such a shame it looks like he will never be the horse he appeared to be in his first season.

Agreed, there's definitely something that's making him uncomfortable, I think he's clearly trying to tell them he doesn't want to do it anymore, like you say he'd showed a lot of promise, but if he doesn't want to do it they can't keep making him, he could have a crashing fall and be badly hurt and could cause others to fall by hanging. I'm surprised they haven't used a bit with cheeks or a brush bit ring but I think there's something badly troubling him, and he'd be happier doing another job.

Does anyone know how the jockey is who fell in todays (Sundays)3:35 race at Linfield was? He was down for a long time and showed no sign of movement I had to go out so missed the last 10 mins of the programme.

Being at Ascot was something just unbelievably special. Although our horse came second the generosity and respect shown by both sides was just unreal. Both horses were heroes. We even got a cheer when we left the parade ring with our horse after the race. A very good day for racing - we need more of this!

Very sad about Master Tommytucker - a horse I've watched with interest for years. If you can find it Harry Derham wrote a lovely tribute to him - I think on Twitter. You'll need your hankies though!

MTT’s fall ruined the whole weekend for me. Such a shame after Saturday. And Battle Over Doyen, I know he got up but what an awful fall. Is he Gigginstown? If so it will off to the abattoir with him.
The highlights of the Clarence House, can they make up for all the misery and pain? I love NH and have watched it all my life but am really sad about it today.

I did think when BOD got up the owner won't care either way, you're right about who it is. I feel sorry for TR he's earnt a lovely retirements but they continue to flog him. I can see him being made to run in the National, and him taking a crashing fall and it not ending well.

Honestly with the public image issues that racing has these days it really should look at introducing some sort of "fit to own" measure / standard, Ryan Air guy would certainly be found unfit.

Frankino04, I so agree re your comments about "fit to own". Fit to train and ride should, IMHO, also be added.
I love TBs (and all equids): however, the bottom line seems to be firmly human. Some of the latter do not entirely deserve the descriptor.

I was hoping they'd retire PP as I thought it was him trying to tell them he didn't want to do it anymore, they wont after that.

MS was catastrophic, he seemed to jump the fence fine, never seen such a bad injury not through a fall it was almost like his back or something had dislocated?

I hate it when the ground is not soft and the fatalities rocket. Horrible. It looked like MS pelvis went? And Whatmore must have broken his shoulder?

Rain is desperately needed if it keeps up like this Cheltenham will be horrendous. It hasn't rained here in weeks, it's supposed to be winter....

Whatmore looked rather like MTT last week, I was surprised when they said he was being led back in as first thought was it looked nasty, though they'd said he was being "assessed" after the race which never usually brings good news. I've read on the racing forum, not sure how true, that apparently the ITV news was wrong, he cantered off, didn't look right, then collapsed https://theracingforum.co.uk/forums/topic/whatmore/

MS was horrific, never seen anything like it, it almost looked like he broke his back but surely he'd go straight down (sorry graphic). He also seemed to jump the fence fine, go a couple of strides then suffer the catastrophic injury.
