Todays Sheep Drama at the gallops!!!

So i decided i would rent a 2 mile gallop track today. Went really early so to avoid the heat, got there all was fine got on and thought off we go!!

Now my horse has a big big big fear of sheep, dont know why but he hates them. Anyway so i turn the corner and i am confronted with a field full of the little blighters that i have to cross to get to the gallops!!!! Now i am thinking OMG.....................this is gonna be fun.

So he sees them and wont move, he literally freezes for ages, i couldnt move him. He starts doing little baby rears when i ask him to go near the gate so we can open it.

Somehow we get through the gate and start walking along the track. The sheep are running and bleating for there little lives and this is how us crossing the field goes.......walk........stop........walk........stop........freak out..........walk etc etc.

Then we get to the gate at the opposite end which we have to go through and more baby rears follow, kinda getting a bit cross now, sheep long gone, so me know big wimp is just playing me up!!!!!!

Anyway we had a good go on the gallops and i must say crossing the sheep field on the way back was a lot easier, he was too tired to freak!!!!!

Very funny day all in all!!!!!

Mine hates sheep and I want to hire gallops. Where did you go? If I went I'd have to take a chaperone.

I had one that was afraid of white houses-i kid you not!!
But after a few months she was fine. she jus wouldn't walk past them what a nutter!!

Awwww sounds as if you had a good day, my friends horses gets a bit funny with sheep, strange!!!

One of my boys absaloutely hates Pigs and Donkeys!!!

Yes it was the one in tring!!!!! Luckily the sheep stayed away from the actual gallop track otherwise i think we would have been going a lot faster!!!!

Yes they are very cool and the surface is really springy, wish our menage had the same surface!! It is amazing how quickly you can canter a 2 mile track!!!!!

Mine doesn't mind a field full of sheep but a sheep in a paddock on its own.

Beware the lone sheep!
