Well the horse has been stood in the field doing nothing for about six months.
Today he will be devastated when he see my fat arse squashed into my jods walking towards him with the saddle draped over my arms.
Right now he is stood in the field waiting for me to arrive , bring him in give him some feed , take his rug off and kiss his nose before throwing him back out. He will be gutted.
I ve not got his shoes back on so its just a quick walk down the grass lane and back..I ve invested in a sports bra for the inevitable jog back home!
Also my oh is going to wait at the stable to make sure there s someone there for him if he comes back on his own!
Wish me luck please!

You'll be fine. Whenever I have brought a horse back after a lay off they have been unfit and lazy - you might be working hard to keep him going :) Enjoy!

I thought this was going to be an awful thread about 'you know what' when I opened it! :D

Good luck, I'm in a similar position as starting to get going again after winter. :)

Hope you both enjoy it!

^^ me too!

Started bringing my mare back into work after having a baby ( about 18months off) and she was very lazy first time. I could do with a smiley face that shows a 'phew'

Then my daughters TB mare brought back into work after 12 weeks ( daughter had an accident) and she was lazy too.

So dont worry, sit back and enjoy the ride:)

Good luck - I'd having a baby in mid June, my horse is currently in the field very happy to be retired, sadly he will be facing the same as yours in August ish !!

Good luck...just check your riding boots for spiders if it's been a while since they've been worn, nothing worse than a dead spider on your sock :):o

Hope it goes well! I'm sure you'll return together :D

I'll be doing that next Saturday. After stopping riding last September because I had piled on the pounds thanks to damaging both legs (left knee doing Zumba, right Achilles trying to run after Dizz (when left knee already bobbered)), then breaking my wrist in November, the Dizz thinks she's retired

Im so sorry for the drama queen title, sorry for misleading you all!
Bless him he took one look at the saddle and buried his head in the back of his stable.
It was brilliant! h&h vibes did the trick for us and other than one plant he was a star!
The plan is to take him out a few times on grass and ring the blacksmith next week.
I get the whole weight gain thing..i lost a stone to ride again and now have two stone to loose before going out to oz to marry the man of my dreams!
Thankyou all!
