Just wondering how a suspensory problem would cause toe dragging on a hind leg?. All flexion tests are clear and physio treatments for SI have not rectified it. Horse is trotting sound but dragging right hind. No heat, swelling, over resting of limb etc... so next worry SL prob. Only bought horse 2 months ago- passed vet.

Ho hum - similar prob - horse passed vet too. But that's not to say iproblem was there then. Have a horse on livery with me that also drags both hind toes - just bought and passed vet. However, mine was lame as well as dragging toes - went to vet for workover, flexion tests ok and nerve blocking up leg (2 visits) still lame but totally sound on SJ block, which pin pointed it to there. lots of posts on SJ injuries/problems on here and ways of getting better or progressing to getting betteror not as case may be. Have you had your horse nerve blocked yet? Good luck - my case is long and frustrating!

Physio said to work through for another week after treatment, then vet - has loosened up beautifully since treatment ,& working nicely but still scuffing off RH . Sorry, is SJ referring to stifle joint?. So when yours coming up sound on block - was there absolutely no toe drag either at all? (i have a hunch the prob is high up) thanks

Sorry - Sacroiliac joint is SJ - probably wrong abbreviation but spelling not my strong point! yes, when horse went lame, looked to be high up but as mentioned leg was nerve blocked from hoof upwards to exclude tendon/ligament and other injuries. Horse was never more than 2/10 lame. Has had 2 steroid injections and seems better. But i must admit i am loathe to do much just in case it comes back agian - viscious circle, as needs to work to overcome injury. Physio is very helpful tho. keep us posted!

after a short hack tonight then in school for 10 mins, he picked up RH so much better than usual - really so pleased. just hoping the physio will be enough to resolve this. one day at a time for now & fingers xd... I noticed washing his legs an old wire cut scar at the base of the back of his pastern on his RH ,& a tiny piece of old scar tissue there too. mmmm??
