A bit of advice required please folks. Georgie is a lazy devil - a big lazy devil at that. His school work has always been a bit haphazard but since having three months of he has upped the anti. When asked to trot, and indeed when trotting he will skip and hop if you try and push him on as an evasion. He has now got it down to a fine art. When he does this he chucks me about all over the place and I have found that I end up with my foot jammed into the stirrup iron. I have tried putting my stirrups up and although it helps occassionaly I have the same problem. I have been looking at the toe stoppers and wondered if they were a good idea to help me overcome this problem.
I know I need to develop my seat more, but I cant do that while he is hopping and skipping all over the blikin place. He doe'snt do this with just me BTW - he does it with my YO and my instructor.
So good idea or a waste of money?

I bought my friend some for Xmas one year and she loved loved loved them! She wouldn't ride without them, and said she felt so secure in them (she had a real fear of falling and being dragged).

They're quite expensive, though, but I think the 'cage' things that endurance riders use on their stirrups may be cheaper. I'd say that toe-stoppers are definately worth a try though, in the circumstances.

PS - I tried them and hated the feel of them!
