Following on from the Springer Spaniel stirrup post below...
I find if I ride for more than about half an hour, my toes go numb!! Do you think some sprenger style stirrups would help??
I also struggle keeping my toes and knees in, so do you think they'd help on that front too?

Thanks for that!!

My toes go numb. I think I put too much pressure in the stirrups by bracing my lower leg. When I make sure my lower leg stays back, then my foot becomes lighter in the stirrup.

Try dropping your stirrups a couple of holes and use them purely to rest your feet in rather than to take weight. Sounds like you are pushing your heels down, they dont need to be down, just level with your toes will do.

Check the front of your boots are not cutting into the top of your foot / front of your ankle and interrupting the blood supply. Mine did and my foot went really tingly and I nearly fell on my rse getting off because my foot was dead. Elegant, not!

Yes, I do put my heels down too much and brace my lower leg!! Too much time spent as a child having "heels down" yelled at me, I think!
Will try to put my stirrups down a hole and see if that helps. I have a show/hunter saddle now, so I need to ride a bit longer than in my GP.
Will check the boots too, tho Flicker!
