Went to Hickstead today and bought some toggi calgary boots which I have wanted for ages...however having tried them on for size a million and one times these feel particularly small and I cannot see how they will ever be comfy....does anyone that has them reckon they will stretch - especially around the calf? Do they come up small normally?

Time to get on ebay and sell them I suppose and recommence my boot hunt :(

Yes will def give a bit. Mine were tight at first and i could only wear them for 20mins at a time but ended up wearing them for a riding holiday (7 hours a day riding). They are so great to ride in. I love them.

I tried a pair on today and thought the same thing! I dont think i have overly large legs but i found them very tight. I imagine the elasticy part will stretch with wear?

Stick with them , I still have to wear a Compeed plaster on one heel six months on and might always have to but they are the only long boots I have found that fit and they are very comfy once on .

I find them tight to get into but I seem to have a high instep , once on, however, I really feel comfy in them and wear them instead of jodhpur boots and half chaps for Trec and everyday.
I often feel I am going to burst the zip putting them on but haven't so far.

Worth opening up the spaces where the elastic is to give a fraction more room.
If you decide to sell I would buy a Size 6 extra wide in black.

The calf is plenty big on me it just seems to be the ankle thats tight but once on they are great.

Ive had many pairs! They do give but also the zips go on every pair I had, I kept sending them back and getting a replacement pair in the end I gave up. They are very comfortable boots though! I use to ride in mine. My friend also found that the zip went!

I have been putting them on and off occasionally tonight and I find they dig into the back of my leg when I sit down....I am trying to tell myself that I am just not used to 'tight' boots after living in Dubarry boots for the past few years but am concerned this is wishful thinking....I am coming round to the idea of selling them I think!
