Toggi Canyon moan and recommendation for replacement

So, my 4th pair of Toggi Canyon boots have been declared dead after only 9 months!
They used to be such great boots and would last me around 2 years, but the quality is so poor now. The lining started to come away after around 4 months, and a couple of months ago they started letting water in and now have a hole in the sole. I don't work with horses, so I am using these boots for doing my own ponies only and walking the dog. I contacted Toggi, who asked for photos of the boots, so they could decide if it would be worth me sending them back for inspection. After looking at the photos they said that it looked like I hadn't been using a boot jack for removal and haven't been using boot trees when not is use!! Is it just me who thinks this is crazy? Does anyone else actually do this with their every day yard boots?
So now I'm looking for a new pair that hopefully will give me a couple of years use. Any recommendations? Am thinking probably Ariat.
 
Mine lasted 6 months before the lining ripped and they became unwearable. I took them back to the seller who exchanged them. I do use boot trees but I don’t use a boot jack, I use my doorstep! However, not using these things shouldn’t affect the waterproofness! I would speak to trading standards as I thought items had a 12 month guarantee
 
I have a pair of Kanyon Ash and I can't recommend them highly enough.

I've had them about 4 years and it was 2 years before they started looking dirty (despite my best efforts). When taking them off I'd just stand on the back of the boot and pull them off with the other boot. Sadly, last month that lack of care finally led to the bottom of the boot coming off at the heel; I was devastated. As I use the boots everyday and it wasn't obviously falling apart, I kept using them and despite the horrible damage, they remained waterproof thanks to the fabulous standard of construction. I've now squeezed in a tube of gorilla glue and my boots are back to normal but I've decided this injury means this pair of boots has been retired while they remain 'field sound'. They will now only have easy wanders to the supermarket, and jogging round the school with the RDA ponies.

I've got a pair of Ariat Bromont to replace but only because I couldn't ride in my Kanyon boots because the grip on the stirrup wasn't reliable. The grip level at all other times and in the deepest mud, or on icy streets was brilliant.

Thanks, maybe I should. They were bought mid December, but were for Christmas, so I didn't start wearing them until end of December and I was wearing them in so I was still using my old boots for most of the time for a few weeks. I have to post them back at my own expense which is what was putting me off as they already had said that.
 
I’ve had two pairs both rubbish. Admittedly I didnt use trees in them either but they are too wide for trees and they don’t need a jack as they aren’t fitted boots so I’d have another go at them about that. Does it say on the label to use a jack/trees. Ariat provide trees and a boot horn for their boots...!

I have just got the WW riding wellies and I’m thinking they could be a very good option instead of ariats (which I usually wear around the yard and for winter hacking). Bonus of only being 40 quid on Hope Valley.
 
I loved my ariats! they sadly died last year after 4 years :'(
i wear my le chameau wellies now and love them also!
 
My ariats last 6.5 years and only got replaced when monster cob decided to ignore my outside leg and took me too close to the gate latch... It caught the string and snapped some eyelets. They were too worn to bother trying to repair really so I treated myself to a new pair. Id have got another year out of them at least if it wasnt for mrs rude pony.

Edited to add... my last pair of le chameux were an 18th birthday present... my husband bought me a new pair for my 33rd birthday. :lol: never used a boot jack either!
