HI Guys

We eventually got our Jackahuahua puppy or probably Chi Russell - o what the hell Chihuahua x Jack Russell on Boxing Day later than expected due to weather etc. So she is 4.5 months old absolutely tiny but completely lion hearted and Jack Russelly and rustic with chihuahua cute factor. She lived out with her mum and other pups and is now in the house. She is called Gabriella. She is a very good girl when I put her out to do wees but as for poos she is driving me demented. She is so tiny and stealthy I can never catch her in the act so don't know how I am to get her properly toilet trained. She comes out in the yard every day and has plenty of walkies and wee times but as for the other, she just doesn't get it.

Any suggestions gratefully received, treats for your hounds:)

As Katie suggests, crate her when u are not in, in your case if she is so small a tiny cat carrier may have to do, with a bed inside to take up even more room, th less room she has the less likely to **** :D
Then when u are in, keep her in the same room as you at all times, never let her wonder from room to room, and then place puppy pads at the door, DO NOT let her pass motions on the pad, the pad is a "cue", for you and her, she will make her way towards the pad, and u will be vigilant;) and see her, you will then scoop her up and place her outside, she will eventually not need the pads but should still make her way towards the door/exit where the pads once where, u then know she need the toilet.
As suggested always let her out, after sleep time, play time and immediately after food then 30 mins after that, and praise and treat when nearing the end of the motion with a "good wee wee/poohpooh":D
The key is to keep her in the room with you, u cannot correct/guide a puppy if you do not see the "unwanted behaviour"
