Hello everyone, two weeks ago I adopted an ex-racing greyhound bitch, she's 2 1/2 years old, spayed late February. I am not an experienced greyhound owner, but I have previously owned a male greyhound without any issues, but this lady is beyond my limited expertise and I am at a complete loss as to what to do and would appreciate any advice/tips. The main problem I cannot solve is her toilet habits, after two weeks of walking her twice a day plus frequent 'down the road' toilet walks - she never relives herself whilst on a walk. She does poo in the garden however, but nearly always wees inside. Yesterday I had my coat on, lead in hand and she squated and went.
The other thing which is worrying me is the length of time between urinating - it is usually over 12 hours and as much as 17 hours on a few occasions. I tried to Google it but cannot get an answer to 'normal' frequency, this isn't normal is it? When she does go it seems OK, volume/flow/no blood etc. so I don't think it can be an infection, I am guessing it is a behavioural/stress issue. On the whole she seems content, lays in her bed, enjoys a fuss and she even sits to wait for her dinner which surprised me (didn't think greyhounds could sit).
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you
