tom thumb bit??

What are the advantages of a tom thumb bit, im looking into which bit would be best to try my mare in. She takes hold of the bit and tries to resist an outline when schooling and gets VERY strong when jumping but very bold.

well i have one but I wouldnt use it for schooling in - I use it for xc and and hacking so I have brakes - I use it for hacking more for peace of mind I will have brakes if she tanks off with me.

So I guess the advantage is brakes with a gag type action if needed - I only use mine on the snaffle ring though but it is versatile in that you can make the leverage stronger up and down the rings and with a curb. Mine likes copper mouthpieces too so she softens quickly in it.
