Tomato Ketchup on White Tails

It seems to get better results if the tail is prewashed with a normal shampoo and then the TK is put on and left for 15 minutes then rinsed out!

My girl has a disgusting pee stained tail, so i will definately be giving it a go

I would say it is being used as a toner, rather than stain remover.

It's the same as the old method for people with blonde hair that have been swimming in chlorine and their hair had been tinged green - red being the opposite colour to green on the colour wheel.

Best bet is to make sure the tail is 100% clean (denture tablets in HOT water worked for me!), then tone out any permanent stains. For yellow stains, use purple toner, and for orange stains, use blue.

In hairdressing. Red is opposite green on the colour wheel. Therefore you should used a red colour on someone's hair if it's blonde and they want to go dark, as it will stop the hair going green

So you could try ketchup

However if the tail is yellowy and you want to remove that, use purple shampoo

Ahh lovely, thank you, yes her tail is a yellowy colour, well under all the dark brown muck, but i suppose then for a tail tainted with poo stains the ketchup would work???

Not saying it will work haha but it might help

Take some before and after pics for us

I'm pleased I have a bay and a dun. Even my coloured pony has a black tail hehe

Be warned :)

I did the tomato ketchup wash on a little white dog who had rolled in pig muck...she honked.

After more than a few baths she was clean, white again after being dripping brown but she still stank. I cannot tell you how bad the smell was, I can still taste it 10 years later!

So, in desperation (she slept on my pillow) I smothered her in tomato sauce, left her 5 minutes and rinsed. Laughed at the pink dog, got the shampoo. Still pink and stinky even after repeated shampooing. For weeks.

My friend bought her a diamante collar. Everywhere we went people pointed and laughed. The dog loved it, she was an attention whore :)

Maybe don't wash your horses tail with ketchup just before a show...
