- on their yard?

We have one and today I was genuinely jealous for the first time.

I have scrimped and saved to get a small 3.5t to be able to be mobile, it's nothing amazing, 1997 ford transit and we've had it re-ramped etc.
Im on a private comp yard so obviously the YO has some amazing 25T. There is one other livery who comes up on weekends, she's not particularly friendly but seems to get on well with YO (who is male).. My lorry is due back end of April and today I went up the yard to see a spanking new Renault master lorry which her parents have bought for her.

I know it's pathetic but I am exceptionally jealous for the first time in a very long time. Stupid isn't it?
It's one of those situations, whatever I have, she always seems to get one better. She complained an got me moved from my nice little block into the main barn, then complained to separate our horses in the field (because mine cribs and she felt it would be copied) Then she was goin to turn out 24/7 with mine and we would pay for hay in the field but she changed her mind (didnt tell me) so I've paid for her horses to eat my hay for over a month.

I really don't want to move but I think this very silly and small extra has added to it all.

- ugh! :(

Ewww, 2 words LIVERY YARDS

Yuck yuck yuck, poor you she sounds difficult! and i too would have been jealous but then again im kinda jealous of you too (I have an Ifor williams trailer but nothing to tow with!) someone somewhere will always be better off than you sadly!
Have fun with your lorry though! exciting times x

I was genuinely expecting to see a shed that was also a home or something to that tune.

Damn let down.

Every single yard/person has someone who wants to follow their every move and be one up unfortunately.

Admittedly, I was a bit green seeing 4 pallets of bedding outside your stables, unfortunately I can't afford to better that one :p

I'm surprised it's taken this long for it to happen/become evident.

The master nice btw? (not trying to rub it in, genuine question)

Lol. Livery yards, the joys!

The lorry thing is a bit petty, but I can see where you are coming from if she is that into one-upman ship, and at least you are open about being jealous!

Just be thankful for what you have, some people have a lot less than you do, and on the grand scheme of things you are lucky! Also, feel good about the fact you don't need to prove you are better than anyone by out-doing them all the time. She obviously feels that she has to prove that about you, so be flattered.

If she really gets on your nerves tell her to shove off and mind her own.

Don't make it into a big thing, it's not that bad so you have to move. If you can, just make it so you don't need to come into contact with her. Speak to Y/O about moving/separating fields, you could supply electric tape if that would please them, so her horse isn't eating your hay, that's a reason enough to want to move fields without just sounding like you are being awkward.

Hmm.

BUT, think of it this way,
YOU worked for yours.
YOU outright own yours.
You don't have to arse lick to keep on side, you use it under your terms, no one elses.

Not just that, but I'd rather walk than drive a renault of any sort.

If they have that much cash why didn't they 7.5t licence her and get her a proper Lorry?

I doubt it stands out next to the big scepters Lorry either way.

It's not very nice for anyone to deliberately delight in making you feel crap. One thing I can say is, with a certainty, what goes around comes around. They'll get theirs :)

LOL. MV there is no hope for you !!:p

TBH if your box gets you from A - B be proud of what you've achieved through hard work. I buy nothing I can't afford and what I have is all through hard graft. Keep this other person at arms length and Im sure if the YO has any sense he will see exactly whats going. As Boolavogue says "what goes around, comes around. Bide your time

I'm exited at the moment that I finally have enough money to buy something that will tow a trailer without instantly dumping it's subframe on the road. Next year I'm hoping to buy the trailer to go with it so that I dont have to rely on my friend to offer to take me places, and so I can actually offer to take him somewhere! Thankfully we dont have anyone like that at our yard, their peg was dropped by a hole or three last year, and we are too busy being nice friends to be smug about it (that dosent include when we've been drinking by the way!):)

What the hell has this got to do with sheds?!?!?!?!

A Tommy Two sheds is someone who,, if you buy a new shed, they buy two new sheds...you do something, theyve done it better...you buy something, theyve bought better/paid way more or got it for way less (whichever would be most upsetting)...youve won a magazine competition, theyve won a Nobel Peace Prize.

My sister is a tommy two sheds :)

What the hell has this got to do with sheds?!?!?!?!
You have one shed, but you always have someone you know when you tell them you have one shed, they tell you they have two, or for the really mentally challenged, they then go out and buy two just so they have one more than you do!

Trouble is if your also a tommy two sheds then your both going to end up with a hell of a lot of sheds !!!!!

Would it help if I said I don't have a trailer or box? :D

Feeling jealous isn't stupid... It can be a perfectly natural reaction... It's how you act on it that is important... Just let it go and think "she's a lucky gal, but I don't have to rely on luck or someone else"... And then one day you get to be old like me and really don't give a flying fig what anyone else does or doesn't have... :)

What the hell has this got to do with sheds?!?!?!?!

Around here it would be someone described as a "My black cat is blacker than your black cat" type of person I think... :)

Awww you are so lucky..... I want a 3.5ton box.
I finally got a trailer for xmas, oldest trailer ever, and is rear unload. But I can finally get where I want to go to, which is still weird.
Im banking on selling it soon and getting something similar to you.
We can but dream.

does she still live at home?
I find alot of people who have best of everything still live at home with their mum, so get a bit of a wake-up call when they finally get their own place and actually have to pay bills.

I know it as tommy two s**ts if you have done one s**t they have done two...

I don't have any horse transport so you are luckier than me... Enjoy your box & having the field to yourself.. She can only upset you if you allow her to x

As I have been reminded before, its not how nice your lorry/ trailer is its what comes out of it!!

Many years ago I had a nice enough trailer but just normal bog standard safe etc. We pulled up to the side of the sj ring and started getting ready. A fabulous lorry pulled in next to us and my face dropped. Immediately thought well we have lost this class! Do you know what? My lovely horse won both open classes against the lovely lorries 3 horses!! I put him away in my little trailer and off we went home smiling all the way!!

As for the hay I would have a word as itys not cheap. Could she not go a fetch a few bales in her new lorry!!

You can't change what others do.

I have a broken 30year old trailer and no tow vehicle so I'm a little jealous of you! :-)

Cambrica, it's not sheds, it's bedding.

Honestly,.I could keep my dirty little traditional on they're supply for years.

Title should be changed, Tommy two and a half pallets of woodchip!

There's still hope for me yet!

Stop being immature and jealous and move on to more important things..Why does it matter what anyone else has because that is unique to their circumstances. Grow up in other words and be grateful for what you have.

ps-doesn't sound like she wants much contact with you so how you seem to think she wants to get one over on you I don't know. Why not just get on with your life and ignore her.

Ouch Susie.

can I offer you a coffee and cigarette to calm those nerves?

I think we've established, it's ok to be a little jelous. Infact, it's a very mature thing to openly admit. It's also human nature to feel this.

Op hasn't really started bitching and naming etc (Barbara thread ;))

Chill out, calm down lol

It's not ok to start suggesting anyone who has anything better than you has had it handed to them on a plate/is a bad person/doesn't 'deserve' it just because you don't have one..

Agree with this. As another poster pointed out, at least you have worked for yours and paid for it with your own money. She will get a wake up call one day when there isn't anyone around to pay for her *****.

Nothing wrong in being jealous - everyone has or will be at some point throughout their lives. Its how you deal with it that matters :)
