Tomorrow is our first day as a PAT dog!

Very excited, My Lab and I were accepted by the Scottish Charity Therapet and tomorrow we are going on our first visit to an old persn's residential home.

Not sure what to expect, hope he's good!

There was a lot of paper work and police disclosures, vet checks, etc, it took months to sort out. But lets hope it's worth it. He's a very large soppy black lab who loves fuss so I hope he enjoys it.

Both of mine are PAT dogs, it was Millie's turn today, she is terrible if it's Gizmo's week and she's not allowed to go!!!

I'll report back tomorrow. He even has a special luminous thingy for his lead and a disc for his collar!!! Woo Hoo!

Oh wow!!
We considered it with Tessa. I used to do a paper round that involved delivering to old peoples home. Each resident had their own room so if I took Tess I tied her outside. One day one of the old fellers asked if he could sit with her so the matron let me bring her in.
I was kept in their for well over an hour as all the residents came out to see her. The matron asked if I would bring her in whenever I did my round. Lots of the oldies loved it as they had, had to leave their pets behind!
This was well before health and safety.
Good Luck its well worth the effort to see the joy a visit gives people.

How exciting, can't WAIT to hear how you get on! I'd love to do this but when I got the paperwork through it said that the dog mustn't pull on the lead. FAIL! Good luck xx

We sold one of our plummer terrier puppies(legion) as a 'care dog' who will work with autistic children , he recently won overall in his tests, from 500 dogs, much to the amazement of the organisers, many had never heard of plummer terriers. We have always said they are intelligent, versatile and agile, this boy is proving us right, well done to his new owners ....and well dont to you.
