please can i have some advice on stopping my cheeky horse getting his tongue over the bit?
I have had him in a myler comfort snaffle which he goes a treat in, but it doesnt give me enough brakes when i need them.
So, i have put him back in a pelham, which he goes very well in. when out hacking i have my reins relaxed, and he tootles along nicely, until he is spooked and he shoots forward and i then need to collect him back.
however today we were out, and about a mile from home he got his tongue over and couldnt get it back which made him panic. i got off and sorted it out, but it would be so much more enjoyable if he didnt do it in the first place.
i have a flash noseband on him so he cant open his mouth, and the bit is a high as safely possible in his mouth, but he still manages to wiggle his tongue over.
what should i do?
