I know nothing about this - but I have a horse who does not make any sort of noise (in his wind) but runs 2 miles of 2.5 travels and jumps (in point to points) and then stops like he has been shot (does not fade - but quite literally goes from cruising to stopping......) I have been told to try tieing down his tongue for his next race - what do others think?

It definitely makes a difference with some horses. Some horses have wind problems without making a noise but could also possibly be bleeding internally in which case it won't help. If you do tie his tongue make sure you get someone who knows how to do it to show you what to do.
