Too attached to horse to turn her away? - I am crazy

Am just wondering if there is anyone else as nuts as me. Have decided I get far too emotionally attached to my horses - it really can't be healthy. My mare is in foal, and I am pregnant. The sensible, rational thing to do would be to turn her away for 6 months, till next spring - let her winter out in a field. But only suitable fields are about half an hour away, and I am used to her being 5 mins up the road and seeing her twice a day at least.
I think I may pine and worry about her if I only go and pat her in the field once a day (and wouldn't even need to do that - they would check her for me). Nuts. Has anyone else ever felt like this? Probably not...

No I understand how you feel. I cant go on holiday because it means leaving my beloved horse.

I'm the same..... I can't bear the thought of keeping mine more than 15 mins drive away in case I can't get quickly if they need me!!

Personally I wouldn't turn a pregnant mare away for the winter - but plenty of people do!
