Too big?

Hi all,
I have seen a very nice 13.1hh pony for sale in my local petshop but before I find out any more etc I was wondering whether I am actually too tall/ heavy! I am about 5ft 4'' and just under 8st (trying to lose weight though!) Would you say I'm too tall/ too heavy or okay?

i wouldnt say you're too big at all, no harm in going to see the pony and see how you feel on it. As some will ride bigger and others smaller

As a little extra, I used to ride at a stable a 13hh Haffie, we'd do fast work, lateral work, and jump up to 3ft 6, and Im the same size as you and a little bit heavier

Okay great thanks! I prefer riding ponies to horses but I wasn't sure whether she'd be a little on the small side to bear my weight

You should be fine, I have a 12.2/13 hand pony who is quite fine and the physio told me I would be fine to ride him until I was over 9 stone

I'm not a doctor and I don't know you - but at those dimensions, please don't try to lose weight.

If you lose more weight you won't have the strength to ride said pony! You will be fine, go and try the pony!
