Well i had recently put up a post saying that i had finally gotten a new horse lorry.. well mum and step dad went to pick it up yesterday, drove back all the way 3 hours with no problems, went to take it to the yard today, as it was outside our house, we started the engine and as it has airbrakes , we had to wait for them to fill up, this usually take 2/3 mins. The lorry wontstart until the airbrakes are filled up. But after 10 mins the clock washowing tht we had barely filled it up and looked stuck. So we could not move the lorry and we are going to have to get someone out to help us

. So its still sitting outside out house

I knew i must be too good to be true :/

Had it been sitting for a while before you bought it? I know mine had and my brakes managed to get air in the system after i had driven about 50 miles. Had to have it checked, which cost me £100

I have to start mine to get the air going but can't actually drive anywhere until the siren goes off. I'm sure on most the engine has to be running to fill the air. \only standing overnight should only take a couple of minutes.

If I don't actually start the engine the siren would keep going forever

yeahh we did start the enginee, same as ours we start the engine a buzzer starts until the air is filled up and when the air has filled up then the buzzer goes off and the handbrake releases

Sorry just re read my post and it made no sense

What i meant to say was that i bought a lorry which i thought was a bargin and then had some issues with the brakes, i thought the same as you that it was probably too good to be true!
It turned out the brakes just had air in the system which did cost me money but lorry is still fab (touch wood)!!
Your's just may be a small glitch, so try not too loose hope yet!!

Start up the lorry ,and then walk round and have a good listen for air leaking. If no obvious leak, switch off the engine and work the foot brake and hand brake until there is no air left in any of the tanks. Then start up and try again. It is possible that a valve has stuck, and this sometimes frees it. What make and model lorry is it?

My old lorry would sometimes do this. The most annoying time was when I had qualified for some SJ finals, so due to this I was unable to go the the finals. So annoyed! We sold the lorry when it broke down 3 outings running!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
