Oh you are so right - I've met her and she is MASSIVE! She can barely fit through her own front door..... She so needs to find her local weightwatchers club....

If posters want to post sensible replies to a possible troll post then so what?!

It's the troll police that are currently the ones giving the trolls just what they want, all the huffing and feet stamping and telling everyone else what to do and how the troll police know best:rolleyes: feels like being back in school and being told not to laugh at the class clown as 'it only encourages them'!

I know, I know - I really should - got really busy between Xmas and New Year so just didn't get chance and I'm now back at work, but will definitely get round to it soon, promise! :)

its your human rights for you and your pony to eat as many pies as you like and you go ahead and sue anyone that tells you different. :)
 
53stone of novice maybe too heavy for a pony, but if you are experienced you will defy gravity by 'riding light' & only feel like 4 stone guido. If you have any doubts though, ask the opinion of someone who stands to make financial gain from you continuing to ride said pony for a truly unbiased view. And maybe bribe them with a pie or 6.

Am I being stupid....... how is the alleged OP a troll?? Did they not just as a question about weights to ride? :confused:

How come so many posts suddenly become *troll* posts (and yes I've been victim of this)

I dont get it clearly I have completely missed something :confused:

I dont want a debate :mad: just wondering what the justification is or is it just if you face doesnt fit then your a troll or is i if you ask a question thats deemed by *someone* to be a stupid question :confused:

Can anyone enlighten me in a non derogatory non bitchy way please :)
 
Springy - I think its because they joined, posted a provocative subject for their first post and havent been seen since

Personally I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt. I can see some people's view that trolls may be harmful but topics like this I have no problem with, if they were faking an illness or asking for money it would be different.

Its also worth considering that people who post the worst lies are not always new posters or even conventional trolls, more attention seekers.

No as explained by Welshd it is a combination of things that usually lead to the Troll cry. New member + inflammatory topic + they never post again when the debate kicks off = someone crying 'troll'.

I think if I was new, I might not be aware of what was and wasn't a inflammatory topic. And I might not post again when it all kicked off cos you'd all scared me off :D

Her point is that there were several reasons that WelshD posted, you chose to sum up with one reason..... The one that pertained to your own experience of the forum so that you could excuse the fact that some people didn't like what you were saying one day (that's ok by the way, ok for people to disagree and ok for you to have your own view abut something.... It's all ok!)

BUT.... You could do yourself a favour and stop mentioning it :D

Then you'd be best sticking to threads where you know everyone on it in RL, as you don't know if any of the rest of us are telling the truth..

On this thread, where we're just discussing the weight of riders, I really can't see that it matters who the op is. :confused:

...and one that is often mentioned, but is obviously overlooked as 'regular' posters continue with 'high jinks' which is all very well, but for a new poster this smacks heavily of a clique and 'here comes a stranger, let's throw a brick at him'.

Fun and frolics has a place, NOT where genuine (face value until proven otherwise, not because 'I have a feeling this poster is a troll...let's all pounce in a witch hunt!'...) people are looking for advice, no matter how improbable it might be.
 
I run a forum/group on Facebook and no-one seems to get jumped on even if they ask a 'silly' question... however once threads get out of hand they are sometimes deleted if things get silly.

There are 2 admins so its not just ones personal opinion.

There are members on there I cant stand and members from all sorts of 'horsey types' but I cant just take a dislike to them coz I feel like it.

TBH there are some members advice you take with a pinch of slat and some worth reading/trying but we just live and let live :)

It works for us anyway
