Hi all
So ive been looking for a share lately and was offered a 12.3hh cob. I am 5"2 and weigh 6.5 stones. I dont want to overload them or anything and know cobs are quite a sturdy breed

Thank you!

You'll be fine but if you're thinking long term I'd suggest not. 16+ is when you start to gain healthy adult weight especially if you're a girl.

If you want to look at it scientifically ask the owner roughly what the pony weighs

If he/ she is fit and well and in work then they can comfortably carry 20% of their own weight - this includes everything so saddle, and you in hat, boots etc.

weigh yourself in riding kit with saddle and you will have your answer
